100% self taught. My background is actually the opposite (CS engineering). Embracing the full spectrum of product development (from design to code) helped me unlock unlimited career possibilities.

With all the current experience, what would you tell yourself when you were just starting out?

"Experts" making everything look difficult & unreachable. Design is simple, and anyone can become a decent designer with some effort.

What do you think about Google starting their own UX Course? Do certificates like this look convincing if you ever planned to hire a junior designer?
Nah, show me your portfolio to convince me about your design skills.
What’s your favorite non-design activity?
Traveling the world & working out.
How can people learn design better? What should they focus on the most?
Design is a skill that needs practice. The more you design and consume good design practices, the better you become. Youtube tutorials and articles help a lot as well!
